You've heard about Chiblu. Maybe a friend shared a store link. Maybe you stumbled on a maker's Instagram and followed a link here. Either way, you're looking at a marketplace that works a little differently from what you're used to.
Good. That's the point.
Chiblu isn't a warehouse with millions of products and a search algorithm deciding what you see. It's a curated collection of independent makers — real people who create things with their hands. Every store is someone's livelihood. Every product has a person behind it.
Here's how to make the most of it.
Start by exploring, not searching
On most marketplaces, you type what you want and get 10,000 results. Chiblu works differently. The homepage features handpicked products and makers. Scroll through. Let something catch your eye.
Each maker has their own storefront — think of it as visiting a small shop, not scrolling through a catalogue. You'll see their brand, their story, and their full collection in one place.
A few ways to discover:
- Homepage — Featured products and makers, curated by the Chiblu team
- Store links — Every maker has a direct URL like
chiblu.com/their-brand - Product shares — Makers share individual products on Instagram, WhatsApp, and social media
Found a maker you love? Bookmark their store link. Unlike algorithm-driven feeds, their URL never changes. You can always come back.
Understanding product pages
When you open a product, you'll see more detail than you might expect. That's intentional — handmade products aren't generic, so their descriptions shouldn't be either.
What to look for:
Price and variants. Many makers offer the same product in different sizes, colours, or materials. Each variant may have its own price. Select the one you want before adding to cart.
Made to Order badge. Some products aren't sitting on a shelf. The maker creates them after you order. You'll see a "Made to Order" label with an estimated timeline — usually 5 to 15 days. This is normal for handmade goods and means your piece is made specifically for you.
Customisation options. Some makers let you personalise products — engraving a name, choosing a colour, adding a message. If a product has customisation fields, fill them in before checkout. Be specific. The maker will create exactly what you describe.
Delivery information. Enter your pincode to check if the product delivers to your area. Most makers ship across India, but some may be limited to specific regions.
Handmade means someone makes it after you order. A few extra days of wait gets you something no factory can replicate.
How to message a maker
Have a question before ordering? Want to check if a customisation is possible? You can message any maker directly.
Go to a product page or a store page, and you'll see a message option. This opens a direct conversation between you and the maker — no middlemen, no bots, no scripted responses.
Good reasons to message a maker:
- Asking about materials or dimensions not listed
- Checking if they can customise something specific
- Asking about lead times for Made to Order items
- Requesting a product in a different colour or size
Makers are real people running small businesses. They respond as quickly as they can, but give them a day. They're often making your products with the same hands that will type the reply.
Placing your order
Once you've found something you like, the checkout process is straightforward.
Step 1: Add to cart. Select your variant and customisation options, then add the product. You can add items from different makers in the same cart — we handle the rest.
Step 2: Enter your delivery address. Your pincode determines delivery availability. Save your address for future orders.
Step 3: Pay securely. All payments go through Razorpay — the same payment gateway used by major Indian companies. You can pay with:
- UPI (Google Pay, PhonePay, Paytm)
- Credit or debit cards
- Net banking
- Wallets
Your payment is secure. Chiblu never sees or stores your card details.
After you order
Here's what happens once you place your order:
The maker receives a notification. They'll review your order and confirm it — usually within a few hours. If your order has customisation details, they may message you to confirm specifics.
Production begins. For Made to Order items, the maker starts creating your product. For ready-to-ship items, they prepare your package.
Shipping. Once shipped, you'll receive updates. The maker handles shipping directly — most use trusted courier services or India Post.
If there's a delay, message the maker directly. Most delays with handmade products come from the making process — a kiln didn't fire right, a material shipment was late. They'll keep you updated if you ask.
Reviews matter more than you think
After your order arrives, leave a review. You can add photos of the product you received — this helps other buyers enormously.
On Chiblu, reviews aren't buried under thousands of entries. Each review is visible and meaningful because the volume of orders per maker is smaller and more personal. Your honest feedback directly impacts a small business.
A good review isn't just "nice product." Mention what you liked — the packaging, the quality, the finish. If it was a gift, say how the recipient reacted. If the maker was responsive, mention that too.
Your review might be the reason another buyer takes a chance on a small maker. That single review can change someone's week.
A few things that make Chiblu different
If you're used to big marketplaces, some things here will feel unfamiliar. That's by design.
Fewer products, more curation. You won't find 50 versions of the same candle. You'll find a few candles, each from a different maker with a different story and technique. Fewer choices, but better ones.
Delivery takes a bit longer. Most items arrive within 5 to 10 days. Made to Order products may take longer. This isn't a bug — it's what happens when a real person makes something instead of a robot picking it off a shelf.
Prices reflect real work. Handmade products cost more than factory-made alternatives. That price includes hours of skilled labour, quality materials, and the overhead of running a one-person or small-team business. When you pay ₹800 for a ceramic mug instead of ₹200 for a factory one, you're paying for something that will last longer, look different from everyone else's, and support a person's craft.
No ads, no sponsored listings. Every product you see is there because the maker listed it. Nobody paid to appear first. What you see is genuine.
Who are the makers on Chiblu?
They're potters, jewellery designers, candle makers, textile artists, bakers, skincare formulators, woodworkers, resin artists, and more. They work from studios, home workshops, and small ateliers across India.
Some have been crafting for decades. Some started last year. What they have in common is that they make things themselves and care deeply about their craft.
When you buy from them, you're not adding to a corporation's quarterly earnings. You're helping someone pay rent, buy better materials, hire an assistant, or simply keep doing the work they love.

One last thing
Shopping on Chiblu isn't about convenience at any cost. It's about choosing to buy differently. Choosing quality over quantity. Choosing a person over a warehouse. Choosing to support the kind of economy where makers can actually make a living from their craft.
Every order here means something to someone. That's not a marketing line — it's the whole point.
Behind every Chiblu order is a maker who'll pack your product themselves, probably smile while doing it, and genuinely hope you love it.
Happy shopping. Take your time. The good stuff is worth the wait.
